Okay folks..

Tried to post this last night, but the site went down about the time I hit the "post" button.

At any rate, it does NOT show up on my searching, so I'm going to post this idea again.

Bear with me. :)

========================= ===========

The Scrambler!

Here's a little business that can make you some very good money, in a short span of time.

Depending upon your area, you could run this business 1-2 a month, and pull a minimum of $1000 from each run.

The Scrambler, is an 8-1/2" x 11" flyer on bright colored paper.

On the back, you have your advertisers.. (8), and on the font is your offer. (Solve the scrambler, and you could win a $50 Gift Certificate to...X X X.)

In my particular area, I'm charging $200 to the "front" sponsor, and $100 to each of the "Back" sponsors.

The front sponsor gets to hand out the flyers. :)

5,000 flyers.. black in, two-sides, colored paper will run me $250. Plus, I will provide the Gift Certificate.. $50.

So, out of my $1000 Gross from the ad sales, I'll end up with $700 after expenses.

Now then.. since I'm only 40-miles from a Major TN city, and since there are several other small towns in my area, I could probably pull off a minimum of 3 flyers per month.

If I charge my regular fees here, and in the next small town, that's $2000.

But, if I go on to the "Big City" and do it, I can very well jump my add prices to $300-$400 for the Front Sponsor, and $150 or more for the Back Sponsors.

On the low end, that's at least $1500 from that flyer.

Of course I'll have to double printing runs, but still I'll be getting a quantity break.

Think about it. If you're not afraid to get out there and pound the pavement for 1-2 days, you can build a healthy little business.

========================= ===========

If you want more information, including copies of my "Scrambler" flyer, you can email me.

pegeler AT yahoo DOT com

Be glad to fill you in.

See you next time.

Blessings,
Pete

Welcome back!

This issue involves a simple little business you can start for probably under $20 with a little scouting around.

Read on........

========================= ===========

Start a Plant Business

If you're looking for a fairly simple business you can start at home, you might consider growing and selling plants.

You will need: Some pots or flats
A bottle of "Grow" Powder
A good healthy, full grown plant
Sand (NOT "play" sand)

Simple. Take cuttings from a plant you already have.

Dip the end of the cutting in grow powder, and stick it into the sand.

For example: My wife and I have a Gazillion Butterfly Bushes. Pink, white & purple.

In our neck of the woods (East Tennessee,) the purple butterfly bushes are most desired.

I built a growing bed, 4'x4', made of 1x6 boards. Filled it with about 4" of coarse sand, and I use that for my "starter" bed.

When ever I get ready to start some new bushes, I simple take a pencil, stick, whatever is handy, and poke holes in the sand, spacing them about 1" apart.

I then make cuttings from one of my purple butterfly bushes, strip off all but the top two leaves, dip the cut end into the grow powder, pop 'em into the hole in the sand, and tamp the sand firmly around the cutting.

After 3-4 weeks, the butterfly bush cuttings have grown a very good root system. I just transplant them into a small pot filled with potting soil.

After about 6-8 weeks, I've got a good sturdy plant that can be anywhere from 6" to 12" in height, and growing like a weed. :)

Sale price.. $1.50-$3.00 each at the local flea market.

Cost? About 4¢ per plant.

The key here is to have a small garden sprayer, and to set it so you get a fine "mist' when you pull the trigger.

Mist your bushes several times a day for the first week or so, to make sure they're getting plenty of moisture.

Of course, some plants/bushes take longer to grow, but now is a great time to get them started for next spring.

Try it. You might like it.

See you next time.

Blessings,
Pete

Biz Ideas.. Volume II
08.15.04 (4:04 pm)   [edit]

Welcome back.

What I'm trying to do with my blog, is to provide you with ideas for businesses that you can build.

These may include online business ideas, but mostly off line "real world" businesses.

Let's take a look at some more ideas..

Publish a Buy/Swap Paper in Your Town

You might consider publishing a "weekly shopper," where advertisers pay a small fee to list items for sale or trade.  Not only could you charge $2-$3 for the ads, but also charge a small fee for the paper itself.. Say 25¢ or so.  Sell them through local news stands, restaurants, convenience stores, etc.  You'd give them say 10¢ for each copy sold.

OR.. You can try what I'm doing.. Build an online shoppers guide!  $5 for 30-days for a standard ad, $10 for motor vehicles of any kind, and $25 for real estate.

I'll let you know how it works out.

Run a Pet Hotel Service:

For dogs, cats, or both.  People will pay good money to ensure high-quality care for their pets when they go on vacation, etc.  Separate kennels for each animal is a must. Good food and adequate care and attention must also be assured.

You can advertise with posters or fliers in Pet Stores, at the local vets, etc.

# # # # #

That's it for now.  See you next time.

Blessings,

Pete

Welcome..

Seems like folks are always looking for off-line business ideas, so I thought I'd give you some to "kick around."

1)  Start a "Consignment Shop."  Very little capital, and you accept goods from others to sell on a commission basis.  Clothing, furniture, etc.

2) Make Money From Your Hobbies.  If you're an expert cook, woodworker, etc., you could offer lessons to small groups. All you really need to get started is a small ad in your local paper, or perhaps some fliers.

3) Along the lines of #1.. Start a Second-hand Kids Clothing store. You could either fun it as a consignment shop, or buy the clothes out-right and resell them.

# # # # #

SPECIAL OFFER: Get started as a "Mystery Shopper"  for just $5!  I'll supply you with a minimum of 6 listings.  All you have to do is signup.  email me at..  pegeler@glorymountain.com  please put "MS Special" in the subject line.

Need Extra Cash??

Hello again.

Yesterday I discussed the Mystery Shopping programs, and I thought that this afternoon I'd give you a start. :)

Here are a couple of locations where you can sign up to be a Mystery Shopper:

http://www.mysteryshops.com" title="http://www.mysteryshops.com" target="_blank"http://www.mysteryshops.com
Papa Johns, Hardees, Logans, etc.

http://www.nationalshoppingservice.com" title="http://www.nationalshoppingservice.com" target="_blank"http://www.nationalshoppingse...
Music/DVD and more.

Now these are just two of the HUNDREDS of companies that hire shoppers/merchandisers/de monstrators.

The rate of pay of course, depends upon the job you're doing for the various companies, but many part-timers are earning $500 a month an more.

If you want to get into this deeper, visit my site:

08.11.04 (4:06 pm)   [edit]

Hi Folks,

After a long, hot summer, I'm back at it again.

Since we last met, I've sold my auction web site, and moved on to other areas.

Recently started a new business that I work on a part-time basis, that brings in some real nice cash on an "as needed" basis.

Check out the link on the left for the $35 an hour part-time biz.

========================= ========================= =====

Another new adventure involves 'Mystery Shopping."

No book here, just the facts. Since I drive a minimum of 50 miles to work each day, "lunch" means spending cash.  Not any more! :)

Every time I go for lunch now, I get paid!  And, you ought to see the ones I have to turn down!

Well, that's about it for now.  Stop by often, won't you?

Blessings,

Pete
